Our team
We are a family-owned Spanish/English speaking recycling brokerage and refurbishing business that truly cares about doing the right thing environmentally. We live in St. Louis Park and our children (24 geckos in a terrarium built by Norm) seem to like it here.
Our history
Norm has been in the electronics recycling industry for over ten years, both as a broker of used computers, a designer of commercial electrical systems and as Director of Operations for a local, veteran-owned electronics recycling company. He also brings a background in customer service, consumer fraud protection and car sales. He loves refurbishing laptops (after wiping the hard drives clean) and loves connecting with people.
Lili saw a photo of a landfill during one of her college classes, and she noticed that NOTHING in the landfill belonged in there. That image stayed in her mind for three decades. As a result, she became a volunteer Hennepin County Community Recycling Ambassador while working for the County (15 years in Spanish/English customer service for WIC Program, a public health service) and has been in that role for over ten years. She's been educating the public on ways to vote with their dollar and the proper ways to do composting. She joined Norm in electronics recycling to get experience on the business side because she's passionate about helping business owners.
It turned out that a lot of companies don't know what to do with their old computers and other electronics.
Our mission
Ours is a simple process:
We pick up your used electronics at your company site. We take it to our double-secured storage space in New Hope. We disassemble some of the items (we get paid more that way). We take all the items (except for functioning laptops) to our recycling partner, EnviroChem , in Anoka. They pay us for the raw materials we've given them and charge us for the printers and monitors (which are very hard to recycle because of all the plastic they contain). Norm keeps laptops which still function and refurbishes them and sells them on Ebay.
We don't take everything (as you'll notice on our list of accepted items)... that's why there are other people in the industry to help you.
We focus on what we're best at and understand the best, to further reduce the load on the landfill.
